Anisodamine tablets exert peripheral antimuscarinic (anticholinergic) effects, relieving smooth muscle spasm induced by acetylcholine. They also relax gastrointestinal smooth muscle and inhibit its peristalsis. Additionally, anisodamine tablets suppress salivary gland secretion and cause mydriasis. Clinically, they are primarily used to relieve smooth muscle spasm, gastrointestinal colic, intestinal spasm, and organophosphate poisoning—with excellent therapeutic efficacy.
