The appearance of cyanosis (bluish discoloration) of the lips requires prompt medical evaluation, as it may indicate hypoxia. A thorough assessment is essential to rule out underlying cardiac dysfunction. If cardiac disease is suspected, an echocardiogram should be performed based on clinical findings. Supplemental oxygen therapy is also necessary to alleviate hypoxia. Strict rest is mandatory—strenuous physical activity must be avoided. Arterial blood gas analysis is strongly recommended.
