I had a B-ultrasound examination yesterday, and the doctor said it might be uterine sarcoma. However, I’m quite skeptical. Can uterine sarcoma be diagnosed by B-ultrasound?

Uterine sarcoma is a relatively common gynecological malignancy arising within the uterus. Transabdominal or transvaginal ultrasound (B-mode ultrasound) can detect uterine sarcoma and is commonly used for initial diagnosis. However, its ultrasound features often closely resemble those of uterine leiomyomas (fibroids), making definitive differentiation difficult on ultrasound alone. Therefore, a high index of clinical suspicion is required when interpreting ultrasound findings. Definitive diagnosis necessitates histopathological examination of surgical specimens.
