I was diagnosed with adenomyosis, but since I have no discomfort, I haven’t undergone treatment. Could you please advise on the most effective treatment options for adenomyosis?

The treatment of adenomyosis must be individualized according to the severity and progression of the disease. For younger patients with preserved fertility who experience only primary dysmenorrhea, symptomatic pain relief with analgesics—such as sustained-release ibuprofen capsules (e.g., Fenbid®)—may be sufficient. In cases where patients present with menstrual irregularities and menorrhagia, short-term combined oral contraceptives (e.g., Marvelon® or Yaz®) can be prescribed; these not only effectively alleviate dysmenorrhea but also help regulate the menstrual cycle. When the disease is severe and medical therapy proves ineffective, surgical intervention—specifically, excision of adenomyomas—may be considered.
