During the ovulation period, women typically experience a noticeable increase in vaginal discharge, which becomes clear, cool, and viscous—resembling raw egg white—and exhibits “stringy” or “spinnbarkeit” characteristics (i.e., it can be stretched into thin, resilient threads without breaking easily). These changes are all normal physiological phenomena. As long as there are no abnormal changes in color or odor, such stringy discharge is considered typical of the ovulatory phase. In addition to these changes in vaginal discharge, basal body temperature also undergoes slight fluctuations during ovulation.
