Does superconducting visual painless abortion require cervical dilation?
Disease description:
I accidentally became pregnant and do not wish to continue this pregnancy. I am considering undergoing a superconducting visual painless abortion, which I’ve heard involves minimal discomfort. However, my husband says this procedure requires cervical dilation and causes significant trauma. Does superconducting visual painless abortion require cervical dilation?
Superconducting visual painless abortion requires cervical dilation. Under normal circumstances, the cervical canal is closed; therefore, during an induced abortion, the cervical canal must be dilated to allow the surgical instruments to enter the uterine cavity for the procedure. Thus, superconducting visual abortion also necessitates cervical dilation. Prior to surgery, misoprostol may be administered vaginally to soften the cervix, facilitating easier and safer cervical dilation and minimizing cervical injury. After the procedure, the cervical canal gradually closes and returns to its preoperative state. For one month following the abortion, adequate rest and limited physical activity are recommended—strenuous exercise should be avoided. One month post-abortion, a pelvic ultrasound may be performed to assess uterine recovery.
