What does an elevated lymphocyte percentage indicate?
Disease description:
For the past six months, I have experienced persistent chest pain. I underwent a chest CT scan, electrocardiogram (ECG), and echocardiography—all of which yielded normal results. However, today’s complete blood count (CBC) revealed an elevated lymphocyte percentage. What might this indicate?
An elevated lymphocyte count is most commonly caused by viral infection. Occasional, mild increases in lymphocytes are generally harmless. However, if the elevation persists, prompt medical evaluation and treatment at a hospital are recommended. If you do not experience symptoms such as sore throat or fever, there is usually no cause for concern—no special intervention is needed; simply drink plenty of plain water. Additionally, ensure adequate rest and maintain good sleep quality.
