What does a high absolute lymphocyte count mean?
Disease description:
Yesterday, during my routine physical examination at the hospital, I inadvertently learned that my absolute lymphocyte count was elevated. Therefore, I would like to ask the doctor: What does an elevated absolute lymphocyte count mean?
An elevated absolute lymphocyte count is commonly observed in the following conditions:
First, infections—such as viral hepatitis, measles, rubella, tuberculosis, and infectious mononucleosis.
Second, hematologic disorders—including acute lymphoblastic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, lymphoma, and bone marrow infiltration.
Additionally, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) following liver or kidney transplantation may also lead to increased lymphocyte counts.
Patients are advised to seek further evaluation at a hospital.
