What issues can a high lymphocyte percentage indicate?
Disease description:
A few days ago, I accidentally caught a cold and developed a fever. I visited a Grade A, Class 3 hospital and had blood drawn. My recent physical examination report indicates an elevated lymphocyte percentage. I’m unsure whether this is due to the fever. Could you please explain what potential issues might be associated with an elevated lymphocyte percentage?
If a physical examination reveals an elevated lymphocyte percentage, this most commonly indicates a viral infection. Common colds, for instance, are primarily caused by viruses and often lead to an increased lymphocyte percentage. In such cases, symptomatic treatment with heat-clearing and detoxifying medications is recommended, along with increased fluid intake and a light diet. A follow-up complete blood count (CBC) should be performed one week later.
