Dr. Zhang Jianhai
After a miscarriage, the endometrium sustains an open wound, leading to increased vaginal discharge—creating an ideal environment for bacterial infection and proliferation. Therefore, special attention must be paid to external genital hygiene: shower regularly and clean the external genitalia promptly; use sterilized toilet paper and change it frequently. Avoid tub baths for two weeks post-miscarriage, and change undergarments frequently to prevent contaminated water from entering the vagina and causing infection. For two weeks following the miscarriage, avoid heavy physical labor and activities involving cold water, and take care to prevent exposure to cold. Additionally, ensure adequate nutrition to strengthen the body’s resistance to disease and promote early recovery of injured organs.
