What Are the Types of Chronic Salpingitis?
Disease description:
I went to the hospital yesterday for a gynecological examination, and the doctor diagnosed me with chronic salpingitis. What are the different types of chronic salpingitis?
Chronic salpingitis includes the following types:
1. Hydrosalpinx: Inflammation of the fallopian tubes often leads to hydrosalpinx, characterized by accumulation of inflammatory fluid within the tubes.
2. Chronic interstitial salpingitis: This condition develops gradually following acute interstitial salpingitis, resulting in persistent chronic inflammation.
3. Adnexal inflammatory mass: In some patients, inflammatory hyperplasia may occur and progressively form a firm inflammatory mass. The presence of such a chronic inflammatory mass significantly complicates treatment.
