Symptoms of wind-cold invasion (common cold) include: 1. Pain in the occipital region (back of the head), accompanied by stiffness and limited mobility of the neck. 2. Aversion to cold and wind. Patients often need to wear multiple layers of clothing or cover themselves with thick blankets to feel comfortable. 3. Clear, watery nasal discharge—typically white or slightly yellowish. The tongue coating is absent or thin and white. Additional symptoms include nasal congestion with a heavy, muffled voice; cough with clear, watery sputum; marked chills without fever—or only mild fever—absence of sweating, generalized body aches, cough with thin, white phlegm, a thin white tongue coating, and a floating-tight pulse.
