What Are the Symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis in Children?
Disease description:
A friend mentioned that her daughter has allergic rhinitis. Could you please tell me what symptoms children with allergic rhinitis typically experience?
Children with allergic rhinitis may experience paroxysmal sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, and nasal pruritus. Severe nasal congestion may lead to mouth breathing or wheezing. During allergic rhinitis episodes, children may also develop ocular allergic symptoms, such as conjunctival hyperemia, itchy eyes, and lacrimation. Allergic rhinitis can be treated with antihistamines or medications that protect the nasal mucosa.
