Can chronic aplastic anemia be cured?
Disease description:
I have been diagnosed with chronic aplastic anemia. Recently, my gums bleed when I brush my teeth, and I am extremely worried that my condition may worsen. Is chronic aplastic anemia curable?
Aplastic anemia is rarely curable because it involves pathological changes in the bone marrow, impairing its ability to produce blood cells normally. Common causes include drug-induced injury, ionizing radiation, and certain viral infections. To date, no definitive cure exists. Some patients may require repeated blood transfusions, which can be costly and yield only modest therapeutic benefits.
