What Are the Causes of Peeling Skin on Hands and Feet?
Disease description:
Recently, my mother’s hands and feet have been peeling frequently. What are the possible causes of peeling on the hands and feet?
There are numerous causes of peeling skin on the hands and feet. For instance, if the peeling is due to eczema, treatment may include topical corticosteroids such as betamethasone or dexamethasone, possibly combined with wet compresses using boric acid solution. If the condition is caused by tinea manuum or tinea pedis (hand or foot dermatophytosis), antifungal agents such as terbinafine or itraconazole may be used.
