What Are the Hazards of Lipomas?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve experienced some abdominal pain. After visiting the hospital for an examination, my doctor diagnosed me with a lipoma. What are the potential risks or complications associated with lipomas?
Lipomas pose several health risks. When they develop on the body, they can impair appearance. Over time, lipomas tend to grow larger and multiply, potentially spreading across the body—thereby increasing treatment difficulty and adversely affecting both the patient’s physical health and psychological well-being. Some lipomas occur in critical anatomical locations; pressing on them may cause pain and, in severe cases, compress nearby nerves or blood vessels—potentially endangering the patient’s life.
