What is expiratory dyspnea?
Disease description:
I constantly feel short of breath. When I visited the hospital for evaluation, the doctor diagnosed me with expiratory difficulty. What exactly is expiratory difficulty?
Expiratory dyspnea is a clinical subtype of dyspnea, most commonly resulting from decreased pulmonary tissue elasticity and/or spasm or narrowing of the small airways. Its primary manifestations include slow, prolonged, and labored expiration, often accompanied by wheezing. This symptom is frequently observed in patients with small-airway disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and chronic bronchitis.
