What Are the Normal Values for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG)?
Disease description:
Today, during my physical examination, I noticed that my test report showed an elevated level of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Could you please tell me what the normal reference range for hCG is?
The normal values of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) vary depending on the timing of measurement. In non-pregnant individuals, the normal hCG level ranges from 0 to 10 IU/L. During weeks 1–2 of pregnancy, the normal range is 50–500 IU/L; during weeks 2–3, it increases to 100–5,000 IU/L. After conception, hCG levels rise rapidly—approximately doubling every 48 hours—and typically peak between weeks 8 and 10 of gestation.
