I underwent an induced abortion at the hospital a few days ago, and I need to go out today to handle some errands. Could you please tell me what precautions I should take after an induced abortion?

Dr. Liu Xiaohui
In general, women may resume outdoor activities approximately 3–5 days after induced abortion. Although induced abortion is a surgical procedure, it still causes some degree of physical trauma. Therefore, post-procedure vaginal bleeding should not last excessively long; adequate rest is essential, and strenuous outdoor work for prolonged periods should be avoided. Additionally, when going outdoors after an induced abortion, women should take care to stay warm—especially during winter—to prevent colds or chills, which could impede recovery.
