Recently, I noticed my child has slight bowlegs while walking and am concerned this might affect their gait. I’d like to know how to address bowlegs in children.

Once bowlegs are observed in a child, timely intervention and correction should be initiated. First, appropriate supplementation with vitamin D and calcium may be provided, as some children develop bowlegs due to calcium deficiency. Second, orthotic bracing may be used for correction under the guidance of a physician at a hospital. For children who fail to respond to conservative treatment and are over three years of age, surgical intervention should be pursued promptly at a hospital.
