Recently, I’ve been feeling unwell and went to the hospital for a checkup; the diagnosis was rheumatic heart disease. Could you please tell me what symptoms are associated with rheumatic heart disease?

Dr. Liu Xiangfei
Patients with rheumatic heart disease often exhibit no obvious symptoms in the early stages. As the disease progresses, they may develop shortness of breath, fatigue, cough, palpitations, chest tightness, dyspnea, and lower-limb edema. With further disease progression, severe cases may lead to heart failure, cerebral infarction, and even life-threatening complications resulting in death.
