What Are the Symptoms of Inflamed Cervical Lymph Nodes?
Disease description:
The child woke up with a sore throat this morning—could it be lymphadenitis? What are the symptoms of cervical lymphadenitis?
The primary symptoms of cervical lymphadenitis include lymph node enlargement, sore throat, pharyngeal pain, fever, fatigue, and erythema of the overlying skin. In severe cases, recurrent fever may occur. As the lymph nodes continue to enlarge, they may compress surrounding blood vessels and nerves, leading to swelling of the head and face and a range of associated symptoms—such as dizziness and hoarseness.
