My baby has a fever and hoarseness—could this be acute laryngitis? I’d like to know the symptoms of acute laryngitis in children.
Children with acute laryngitis may experience fever of varying degrees, though most cases involve mild to moderate fever. Additionally, patients may produce stridor during breathing and may also feel short of breath or experience labored breathing. If left untreated, symptoms may worsen, leading to cyanosis of the fingers, toes, and lips, as well as pallor. Tachycardia and tachypnea may also occur.
