Rh-positive blood type refers to one of the blood types in the Rh blood group system. The Rh blood group system is divided into Rh-positive and Rh-negative types. Rh-negative blood is extremely rare—commonly referred to as “panda blood”—whereas the majority of people have Rh-positive blood. During blood transfusion, Rh-negative blood must not be administered to Rh-positive recipients; however, Rh-positive recipients may safely receive either Rh-positive or Rh-negative blood.
