Post-Cardiac Angiography Care Instructions
Disease description:
I just underwent a coronary angiography today. What precautions should I take after the procedure?
After undergoing cardiac angiography, the patient must remain in strict supine position. The puncture site should be closely monitored for bleeding or hematoma formation, and appropriate wound care must be provided. Additionally, the patient should drink ample fluids to increase urine output and facilitate renal excretion of the contrast medium. Furthermore, if the patient develops any abnormal symptoms—such as dyspnea, shortness of breath, or chest pain—medical staff must be notified immediately for prompt evaluation and management.
