After receiving the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, most people experience only mild and transient reactions. Common local reactions include redness and swelling at the injection site, which are typically normal immune responses and generally do not require excessive concern. Some vaccinated individuals may develop a low-grade fever but usually recover quickly. However, a small number of people may experience persistent low-grade fever or accompanying symptoms such as diarrhea, gastrointestinal discomfort, or lethargy. Although these reactions are rare, medical consultation is recommended if they occur. It is worth noting that infection at the injection site is uncommon; however, sterile inflammation—causing redness, swelling, and pain—may occasionally occur, potentially leading to discomfort and irritability.
