Why Does My Baby Snore While Sleeping?
Disease description:
I’ve noticed over the past two days that my child frequently snores at night. Why do infants snore while sleeping?
Snoring in infants can be attributed to two main factors. First, nasal congestion may obstruct the airway, causing audible sounds during both inhalation and exhalation. Second, the infant’s sleeping position may contribute—lying supine can cause the tongue to fall backward (posterior tongue displacement), partially obstructing the upper airway and leading to snoring during sleep.
