Early Symptoms of HIV in Men
Disease description:
My roommate, with whom I live, has been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, and I’m also worried about possibly having the disease. What are the early symptoms of HIV/AIDS in men?
Early symptoms of HIV infection in men primarily include penile itching, generalized rash, fever, decreased appetite, sore throat, and generalized fatigue. A small number of men may also experience diarrhea, with symptoms resembling those of the common cold. Approximately two weeks after initial infection, individuals typically progress into the latent (asymptomatic) phase. Once this latent phase begins, clinical symptoms become difficult to detect.
