What Are the Symptoms of Polyneuritis?
Disease description:
I’ve been experiencing pricking and burning sensations frequently over the past few days, and I’m worried I might have polyneuropathy. What are the symptoms of polyneuropathy?
Symptoms of polyneuropathy may include sensory disturbances, often manifesting as paresthesia—such as tingling or “pins-and-needles” sensations—in the distal extremities. Patients may also experience sensations resembling crawling ants, burning pain, or allodynia (pain from light touch). If polyneuropathy is suspected, patients should seek evaluation at a reputable hospital’s Department of Internal Medicine or Endocrinology. Following diagnosis, treatment may involve glucocorticoid medications—such as hydrocortisone or dexamethasone—as prescribed by the physician.
