If left untreated for a prolonged period, premature ejaculation (PE) can lead to disharmony during sexual intercourse, negatively affecting the marital relationship and potentially resulting in family breakdown. Chronic PE may also erode the patient’s self-confidence, foster feelings of insecurity, and contribute to psychological disorders; over time, the condition may progressively worsen. Furthermore, untreated PE can gradually impair normal penile erection function, leading to erectile dysfunction (ED); in severe cases, organic lesions may develop, potentially compromising fertility.
