Disease description:

This time, I experienced severe abdominal pain during my period, which was quite uncomfortable. This hasn’t happened before, and I haven’t had any dietary restrictions. Could you please advise which foods should be avoided during menstruation, as they might adversely affect my health?

Dr. Yang Qiong
During menstruation, avoid consuming raw, cold, spicy, or otherwise irritating foods—such as chilled fruits, cold beverages, chili peppers, hotpot, coffee, crab, and alcoholic drinks. In particular, cold and cooling foods may easily trigger dysmenorrhea, menstrual irregularities, or abnormally decreased or increased menstrual bleeding. Such dietary habits may also adversely affect overall health and, in severe cases, potentially impair future fertility.
