What Causes Teratozoospermia?

Teratozoospermia is associated with certain inherited metabolic disorders that impair spermatogenesis in the testes, leading to the production of a large number of abnormally shaped sperm—such as round-headed sperm, headless sperm, and needle-shaped sperm. Additionally, lifestyle factors, environmental exposures, impaired testicular development, abnormal levels of reproductive hormones in the testes, severe varicocele, severe food poisoning, and other harmful environmental factors may also contribute to sperm morphological abnormalities.
