What is the normal range for heart rate?
Disease description:
I’ve been feeling chest tightness and dizziness these past few days. During my recent physical examination, the doctor mentioned that my heart rate is slightly low. Could you please tell me the normal range for heart rate?
The normal heart rate range is 60–100 beats per minute (bpm), which is considered physiologically normal. However, during emotional excitement or physical exercise, the heart rate may increase and exceed 100 bpm; this is a physiological response and typically requires no specific intervention—rest and relaxation are usually sufficient to restore the heart rate to normal. If the heart rate falls below 60 bpm, further evaluation is warranted.
