Buzhong Yiqi Wan clinically functions to tonify the spleen and stomach and augment Qi, as well as to elevate Yang and lift prolapsed organs. It is primarily indicated for treating rectal prolapse or chronic diarrhea resulting from Qi deficiency and sinking of the middle Jiao (spleen-stomach Qi deficiency). Typical symptoms include fatigue, loose stools or prolonged diarrhea, poor appetite, and abdominal distension. This formula may also be used for patients with uterine prolapse who present with the aforementioned symptoms.
