Is it true that Ten-Drop Water and metronidazole gel can treat acne?

I’ve recently developed acne on my face. A friend suggested using “Shi Di Shui” (a traditional Chinese medicine preparation), and I’ve also heard that metronidazole can be used. I’d like to ask: Is it true that “Shi Di Shui” and metronidazole gel can effectively treat acne?

Hello, it is not recommended to use “Shi Di Shui” (a traditional Chinese medicine preparation) for acne treatment. However, metronidazole gel may be used to treat inflammatory papules and pustules, for which it demonstrates relatively good efficacy. It is, however, less effective against acne vulgaris and may therefore cause adverse reactions. Acne development is generally associated with excessive sebaceous gland secretion.
