I’ve only been married for a short time and am not ready to have children yet. Today, I heard from others that taking clomiphene can result in twins—and having two babies at once sounds great! Is it really true that taking clomiphene can lead to twins?

Taking clomiphene increases the chance of having twins, although clomiphene is an ovulation-inducing medication and conceiving twins still requires specific conditions. Intercourse for conception must be carefully timed under a physician’s guidance; high-quality sperm and eggs must successfully unite and implant in the uterus; and the resulting embryo must develop healthily within the uterine environment. Even under medical supervision, the likelihood of conceiving twins remains relatively low. Therefore, we recommend against using clomiphene indiscriminately—opt instead for a natural approach to conception.
