Can mixed connective tissue disease be cured?
Disease description:
I have been diagnosed with mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD), and I am experiencing significant discomfort. I am also worried that it may not be curable. May I ask: Is mixed connective tissue disease curable?
Mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) is rarely curable; treatment is typically symptomatic and aimed at controlling disease activity and slowing progression. MCTD commonly causes fatigue and generalized weakness; some patients also experience joint pain, and others may develop finger swelling and skin hardening. Treatment should be guided by a physician and may include corticosteroids such as hydrocortisone or methylprednisolone.
