What are the side effects of using an intrauterine device (IUD)?
Disease description:
I already have one child and do not plan to have another one for the time being, so I would like to have an intrauterine device (IUD) inserted for contraception. What are the potential side effects of using an IUD?
The most common side effects of using an intrauterine device (IUD) include irregular vaginal bleeding, abnormally heavy menstrual flow, and lower abdominal heaviness or pain. In most cases, these symptoms gradually subside or disappear within three months after IUD insertion. However, if such symptoms persist beyond three months, the IUD should be promptly removed.
