In its early stages, psoriasis primarily manifests as isolated, scattered red plaques—or, in some cases, sudden onset of widespread erythema—often accompanied by white scales. Lesions commonly occur on the knees, back, and scalp. Additionally, many patients experience marked pruritus at the sites of erythematous plaques. In severe cases, psoriasis may lead to joint damage, pustules, and other systemic complications.
