Spray painting poses numerous health hazards to humans, primarily because paint contains large amounts of formaldehyde—a harmful substance. Inhalation may trigger toxic reactions, such as headache, nausea, and vomiting; severe cases may lead to altered mental status, including coma or excessive drowsiness. Prolonged exposure to spray painting may also cause hematologic disorders or precipitate acute asthma attacks.
