The Best Treatment for Hand Fungus
Disease description:
My hands have been extremely itchy lately, and I’ve developed some small blisters—seemingly “hand fungus” (tinea manuum). I’d like to learn about the most effective treatment for hand fungus.
The optimal treatment for hand dermatophytosis (tinea manuum) is primarily symptomatic. If papulovesicular eruptions accompanied by pruritus develop on the palms, topical antifungal agents such as terbinafine cream may be applied to the affected areas. In cases presenting with erosion and exudation, wet compresses with ethacridine lactate solution may be used; once the lesions have dried, topical antifungal medications can be applied. During treatment, avoid contact with strongly alkaline substances such as laundry detergent and soap. Personal items—including hand basins—should be kept separate from those used by others to prevent cross-infection.
