What does “right-sided epididymal cyst” mean?
Disease description:
Today, while undergoing premarital medical examinations before registering our marriage with my girlfriend, I suddenly discovered a right-sided epididymal cyst. What does this mean?
A right-sided epididymal cyst refers to a cystic lesion occurring in the right epididymis of males. Most such cases result from spermatic stasis—namely, retention of semen within the epididymis without timely expulsion—leading to a painless cyst, also known as a spermatocele. Clinically, the cyst typically presents as a smooth-surfaced, non-tender mass and generally has minimal impact on the patient.
