A right-sided epididymal cyst may result from infection. Obstruction of the vas deferens or local trauma can also lead to cyst formation. Additionally, untreated chronic urological conditions may progress to cause epididymal cysts. Another possible cause is the accumulation of locally secreted fluid that fails to be promptly absorbed, resulting in a cystic lesion—typically in the head of the epididymis—and manifesting as an epididymal cyst.
