Can people with gout drink goat milk powder?
Disease description:
I read somewhere that goat milk powder is beneficial for health. Since I myself have gout, I’d like to find out: Can people with gout drink goat milk powder?
Patients with gout may consume goat milk powder in moderation. Gout is primarily caused by disordered purine metabolism, leading to elevated serum uric acid levels in the body. Goat milk is considered a low-purine food; its consumption generally does not raise serum uric acid levels and therefore does not interfere with disease recovery or control. Patients with gout should avoid high-purine foods—such as organ meats, hotpot, and rich meat broths—and should also abstain from alcohol, as alcohol can elevate serum uric acid levels and trigger gout attacks.
