Patients with hyperuricemia are advised not to take deep-sea fish oil. Deep-sea fish oil is a dietary supplement, and its specific composition varies among different manufacturers; therefore, it is best avoided to prevent potential delays in diagnosis or treatment. Patients with elevated uric acid levels should follow a low-purine diet, consume more fresh fruits and vegetables—such as white radish, Chinese cabbage, apples, and cherries—and strictly avoid smoking and limit alcohol intake. They should also avoid binge eating, engage in appropriate physical exercise, monitor their weight, and prevent obesity.
