After being stung by a wild bee, appropriate management should be performed based on the clinical situation. First, examine the wound for the presence of a retained stinger. If a stinger is present, promptly remove it using fingers or tweezers; then gently squeeze the area to expel venom, rinse thoroughly with soap and water, and disinfect with alcohol. For individuals without systemic symptoms—only localized pain at the sting site—oral analgesics such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or codeine may be administered. If the sting site exhibits pain, erythema, and swelling, topical corticosteroid ointments (e.g., Pianping Cream or Elesun Ointment) may be applied with gentle massage, and elevation of the affected limb can help reduce swelling.
