Disease description:

My father has had poor heart health for a long time, with some prior cardiac issues; however, his condition is now relatively stable. We’re planning to take him to the hospital for a comprehensive physical examination and would like to know which department we should visit for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular assessments.

Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases fall under the jurisdiction of either the Department of Cardiology or the Department of Neurology. Patients with such conditions may register for consultation in either department. Regardless of which department is chosen, standard diagnostic tests are routinely performed and include: complete blood count (CBC), abdominal ultrasound, electrocardiogram (ECG), liver function tests, and renal function tests. Additional imaging studies—such as computed tomography (CT) scans and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)—may be required depending on clinical indications. Further specialized evaluations, including coronary and cerebral angiography, may also be necessary. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health!
