Axillary osmidrosis (body odor) can be effectively treated and even cured. For patients with mild symptoms, conservative treatment is recommended—this includes maintaining local hygiene and dryness, or using antiperspirants to alleviate symptoms; in many cases, symptoms gradually improve with age. However, for patients with severe axillary osmidrosis, surgical removal of the apocrine glands is an option, which typically provides a definitive cure.
