Disease description:

My home vegetable garden has produced many fresh young melons. I ate one this afternoon and suddenly remembered that my blood sugar is somewhat elevated, so I’d like to consult whether it’s safe for someone with high blood sugar to eat fresh young melons.

Whether patients with high blood sugar can consume fresh zucchini requires individualized assessment. If a patient’s blood glucose levels are well-controlled and zucchini has a relatively low sugar content, moderate consumption is generally acceptable and unlikely to significantly affect blood glucose. However, if blood glucose control is poor or levels are elevated, zucchini should be avoided to prevent further increases in blood glucose, which could complicate management.
