How to Treat a Wasp Sting
Disease description:
Recently, while I was out having fun, I was accidentally stung by a wasp. The sting site became red, swollen, and itchy. How should a wasp sting be treated?
After being stung by a wasp, the first step is to examine the skin for any broken-off stinger. If a stinger remains embedded, it should be carefully removed with tweezers, and the affected area should then be repeatedly rinsed with soapy water to alleviate pain. If Jide Sheng Snake Tablets are available, they may be dissolved in warm water to form a paste and applied topically to the lesion. Concurrently, oral antihistamines—such as chlorpheniramine tablets, cetirizine tablets, or olopatadine tablets—as well as vitamin C and calcium gluconate may be administered. Additionally, camphor ointment may be applied topically. Should the patient develop symptoms of anaphylactic shock—such as dyspnea or hypotension—they must be immediately transported to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment.
